What is Accident Line?

Accident Line is a Law Society specialist personal injury and referral insurance service. If you have suffered an injury where someone else is at fault we could assist you in obtaining compensation. The process is not complicated and it need not cost you a penny.

What is different about Accident Line?

Your relationship is with a specialist regulated Personal Injury Solicitor not a Claims Management Company. Panel Solicitors are experts in handling personal injury claims and we are on your high street! There are no hidden costs and all Accident Line Solicitors adhere to a 12 point Standards Charter. The Charter is designed to ensure that accident victims receive the highest quality of care.

We will explain the jargon

There are different ways that exist to pursue your case and protect you against the costs of losing it. We will advise you of these and check if you already have insurance for these costs. A Conditional Fee Agreement (CFA) is an agreement that frees you from having to pay costs if you lose. You will also be advised about “After the Event “ (ATE insurance).

What is ATE Insurance?

After the Event (ATE) insurance is a policy taken out after an accident. It protects you if you lose your case. The Insurance Policy that the Law Society has designed for Accident Line Solicitors protects you for your Solicitor’s expenses (known as “disbursements”) and the other side’s costs, and you can reclaim the cost of that Policy as well if you lose.

If you need insurance to cover the costs of a claim we shall discuss this option with you.

Disbursement Funding

If we take the case on under an Accident Line Policy we fund the disbursements not you. This means that there are no “hidden” costs such as Credit Agreements or the like.

If you win your Claim

Either prior to Court proceedings or at Court, you will receive your compensation from the negligent party or their insurers. They will also be required to pay your costs and disbursements.

If you lose your Claim
Your Accident Line Protect Policy will pay disbursements paid out by your Solicitor (excluding barrister’s fees) and pay your opponents costs if there is a Court Order to do so. The policy will also refund any ATE premium paid.

Accident Line Promise to you

If you have lost time or even your health – you are the one who is suffering. The Law is there to help you get justice. Every year three million people are injured because of someone else’s carelessness or negligence. We aim to make the whole process clear and transparent in a way that makes sense and will deliver justice.

That’s the Accident Line promise to you.
